Relaxants and Injectables

In addition to having completed his Medical Sceince and Dental degree, Dr Hargreave has undertaken further studies in the specific areas of dermal fillers and cosmetic injectables with the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics.  Dr Hargreave was one of the first dentists in Sydney to be trained using these products.

This certified training ensures he has education and experience in injection techniques, as well as an extensive knowledge of facial anatomy.

We conduct all of your treatments in a modern, sterile, clinical environment with the most up-to-date and effective cross-infection procedures.

Anti-wrinkle – muscle relaxant

Muscle relaxant courses were originally used for medical purposes but are now commonly used in facial aesthetic treatments.

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to relax key facial muscles, helping to reduce and inhibit the appearance of upper facial lines including forehead lines, frown lines, and ‘crows feet’.

At your first consultation, Dr Hargreave will;

  • Undertake a facial assessment
  •  Develop a personalised treatment plan
  • Carefully explain the recommended treatments
  • Answer any questions you may have

This initial consult is complementary. If you wish to proceed, we'll then schedule an appointment for you at a convenient time.

The following is an estimate only – an accurate treatment plan will be provided to you before any procedures are started. The total cost of treatment is dependent on many factors, such as age, gender and any previous treatment you may have had.

Area                                         Estimated Fees

·         Forehead lines                        $275

·         Crow’s feet                              $275

·         Frown lines                              $275

·         Full treatment ( 3 areas )        $550

·         Chronic  headaches                $800 - $1500

·         Jaw pain/Muscular Pain          $800 - $1500

·         Gummy Smile                          $350 - $450

How long does the effect of the treatment last?

3 -4 months. After the second treatment, it can last up to six months. This generally depends on how dynamic and active the muscle is, as well as your own physical circumstances.

What is wrinkle relaxation treatment?

Wrinkle relaxation treatment helps to temporarily lessen muscle constriction by injection small in the desired areas. The muscle contraction is relaxed and the overlying skin smooths out. This can improve the current appearance of the wrinkle, as well as help prevent the wrinkle from deepening with use.

How do anti-wrinkle injections work?

This depends on the injection agent used. During your consultation, we can discuss the best solution for you and give you a detailed explanation of how it works!

Will facial expression be affected by treatment?

There is little effect on facial expression. If carried out properly, the patient can still show expression, but wrinkles, or ‘angry’ face, are diminished. Your facial expressions will not be altered, as the treatment only relaxes the muscle beneath the injection line, creating natural looking results.

Are there any side effects?

Yes, there can be some side complications.  The majority of minor side effects often result from the injection technique rather than the material itself.

Most potential side effects are similar to those for the majority of other injections. They include: redness at the injection site, soreness, swelling, bruising, bleeding, itching, rash and pain for a few days after. You will receive a list of post-care instructions in order to minimise side effects and maximise results.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, a component that is naturally produced by the skin. Over time, our skin produces less hyaluronic acid. This is a normal aging process. Dermal fillers can help restore volume and smooth out various depressions to regain a more youthful appearance, or help correct various issues such as asymmetrical lips or large dark spaces around dental implants.
